I am a patent agent, which means that I obtain patents for my clients on their inventions. This involves me in writing patent specifications for my clients. These are technical descriptions and legal definitions of inventions. The work involves documents and drawings of many kinds. Also we search a lot via the Internet and we have to maintain a comprehensive practice database. The work puts heavy demands on the computers. Also it has to be done against tight deadlines, which means that the computers have to keep working. Syn-star has installed a server and back-up system which I have confidence in. They have rebuilt old computers as they reached the end of their surprisingly short life. When I have a problem their helpful staff get things fixed.
